How to Find Hidden Files on a BlackBerry Pearl 8130

The BlackBerry 8130, also commonly called the BlackBerry Pearl, has a feature that hides certain files from viewing. Hidden files are already on your BlackBerry Pearl handset and you can also choose other files to hide. This acts as a sort of protection from unwanted alterations of these files. Finding these files is simple and only requires that you open the options menu in the folder.

Instructions

  1. Turn on your BlackBerry 8130. Wait for the phone to finish booting up and the home screen to appear.
  2. Press the menu key to go to the applications page. Open the Media application. Press the menu key again and click "Explore."
  3. Open the BlackBerry Pearl folder that you want to view the hidden files in. Press the menu key again. Click "Show Hidden."

Tips

  • If you want to hide the hidden files again on your BlackBerry 8130, press the menu key while you are in the folder and re-enable the hidden feature.
  • Unless you have hidden a file yourself, hidden files are set that way for a reason. In most cases, this is to prevent you from altering or deleting important files on you BlackBerry Pearl.
