When you are trying to establish long-term international business relationships, there are a few things you need to do first.

Punctuality

  • In the United States, we tend to pride ourselves on being early or on time for every meeting and business function. Other countries may not share that same cultural feeling about punctuality, and that is something you may have to adjust to when doing international business. Language

  • Language considerations are an important part of doing international business. Before doing business with a foreign country, you must first determine what languages are acceptable. In order to be able to sell to clients within a particular country, you will need to become familiar with how legislation may hinder or help the selling process.
